The Way of the Ruok

 In the year 1806, a young Indian girl named Esther escaped from a Spanish mission in California, and found home and healing amongst a people called the Twelve Tribes. On the chance her mother might be alive and captive in a Spanish mission herself, she returns to mission territory, making a desperate attempt to discover the truth and free her mother if she still lives. Going along with her is Tumock, a shaman from the ancient order of the Ruok, who has agreed to guide her. Tumock also has his own mission. He hopes to bring together the twelve separate tribes and unify them into one tribe – to prepare them for the great changes that are soon to come to the land.
