Dust Devils - A Red Horizon Graphic Novel
Mars, 2125. Corporate feudalism has followed humanity to the red planet, and one pilot stands between a billion-credit convoy and a corporate ambush.
Ferra Tolkien, a Helios fighter pilot and the last descendant of a famous storyteller, is escorting twenty-four giant Mammoth haulers across Chryse Planitia when a planet-sized dust storm rolls in, and the rival Meridian Industries sends twelve armored Hammer fighters out of the Acidalia canyons. With no radio, no radar and a fuel gauge sinking fast, Ferra drags the fight into the storm, where the odds are no longer so unfair.
Dust Devils is an 80-panel full-colour graphic novel adapted from the first story in the Crimson Wings collection: dogfights in a hurricane, dry corporate-satire narration, and one very bad idea at forty thousand feet. If you like Mars sci-fi, aerial combat, grumpy heroes and gorgeous red-and-gold art, this is a fast, cinematic read.
Full-colour. 40 pages. Lettered captions and speech balloons throughout.
