The Story Behind YRLX
The Young Readers Literacy Experience was inspired by my first story time at the Homewood Public Library. I loved the way they created an engaging and structured space for kids to enjoy stories. As I continued reading my own books to children, I realized I wanted to offer more than just a reading. I wanted them to feel involved, to learn, and to truly have fun. That desire, combined with the smiles, excitement, and hugs I received, became the foundation for YRLX. A space where kids don’t just listen, but actively experience literacy.
What Young Readers Will Experience
YRLX is more than just story time—it’s an interactive literacy experience designed to keep kids engaged, curious, and excited to learn. Through storytelling, creative activities, and guided participation, children will build confidence in reading and self-expression while strengthening their imagination.
They’ll also have the opportunity to meet an author, learn about the journey of becoming one, and see firsthand that their ideas and stories matter too.
Each session is designed to be fun, educational, and memorable—giving young explorers the chance to not just hear stories, but to become a part of them.

Will children have to share their thoughts?
Sharing is always optional. Children participate at their comfort level. The goal is to make everyone feel safe, confident, and included.
Can children meet the Author?
Yes! Part of YRLX includes meeting the Author and learning about what it takes to write and create stories, inspiring children to see themselves as future storytellers.
Can I purchase more than one session?
Absolutely!
Are all sales final?
Yes, all purchases are final.

Can YRLX be customized for our classroom or group?
Yes! Sessions can be tailored to focus on specific themes, subjects, or literacy goals your group is currently exploring.
What age groups are appropriate for YRLX?
YRLX is designed for children in grades K-5, but activities can be adapted depending on the group’s needs.
Can we book multiple sessions?
Absolutely! Schools or organizations can schedule recurring sessions to provide ongoing literacy engagement and skill-building.
Will the author offer books for purchase at or prior to the event?
Yes! The opportunity to purchase books directly from the author is available either before or during the session.
What is the recommended group size?
While YRLX can be adapted for various group sizes, please refer to the tier sizes below:
Tier I: Group size of 10 to 50
Tier II: Group size of 51 to 99
Tier III: Group size of 100 to 200
Tier IV: Group size of 200+ (please send an email for pricing)
How long is each session?
Typically, sessions last 60 to 90 mins, but timing can be adjusted to fit your schedule.
Do you provide all materials?
Yes! YRLX comes with all necessary materials for creative activities and guided exercises.
How far in advance should we schedule?
We recommend booking at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance to ensure availability and customization.
