LSW VU

A free VU meter for Ableton Live / Max for Live from Lomax Signal Works.

LSW VU is designed as a straightforward, properly calibrated VU meter for gain staging, mixing and checking average signal level.

The meter uses classic VU-style ballistics, with approximately 300 ms response and a small amount of mechanical-style overshoot. Unlike a simple peak meter, it gives you a clear view of the average energy and movement of a signal.

Choose between -18, -14 and -12 dBFS = 0 VU calibration to suit your workflow.

Click the display to switch between the traditional needle meter and an LED display.

A separate digital sample-peak readout remains in dBFS, with a held peak indicator changing from amber to orange and red as the signal approaches clipping.
