My Life As A Republican

🇺🇸 MY LIFE AS A REPUBLICAN

A Humorous and Nostalgic Look Back at Voting Since 1972

By Frank Buongirno

In 1972, I was a high school senior casting my first presidential vote. Life was about cars, music, concerts—and figuring out what came next.

Now I’m looking back at the votes I cast, the choices I questioned, and the life happening between elections. Along the way, I revisit the movies, music, everyday prices, and memories of Meriden, Connecticut.

Despite the title, my votes haven’t always followed one party. These are my personal memories, with some humor and plenty of nostalgia.

🗳️ What was the first presidential election you voted in?
