This delightful duo presents a stunning set of stripes to keep you warm and stylish. The Zoologist Hat and Cowl set can represent any personality you wish, by changing up the colour combination to emulate a zebra, tiger, kitty, or perhaps even wood grain. Worked in the round, the charted pattern is perfect for two-handed, stranded colourwork technique. Subtle shaping in the cowl allows the cowl to sit nicely in place.

MATERIALS

Hat and Cowl: 1 skein Lascaux Fine 100 in each of main colour (MC) and contrast colour (CC).

Hat only or Cowl only: 1 skein Lascaux Fine 50s in each of main colour and contrast colour Sample shown in Nutmeg (MC) and Fortuitous (CC). Alternate sample shown in Denim 2 (MC) and Nutmeg (CC).

Needles:

Hat: One set size 2.75 mm / US 2, 40 cm / 16” long circular needles; one set size 3.25 mm / US 3, 40 cm / 16” long circular needle; or size(s) needed to achieve gauge PLUS either a set of double pointed needles, a second circular needle, or a long circular needle (for magic loop) in same size as above to obtain gauge, to use when shaping top of crown.

Cowl: One set size 2.75 mm / US 2, 60 cm / 24” long circular needle; one set size 3.25 mm / US 3, 60 cm / 24” long circular needle, or size(s) needed to achieve gauge.

Notions: 4 sliding stitch markers (one odd, for beginning of round), Tapestry needle.
