You moved into your new build and found 22 things wrong. Three months later, half are still not fixed and nobody remembers what was promised. Snagging List walks you round your home room by room, logs every snag with a photo, prints a report for your builder, and then tracks each one until it is fixed, with a dashboard that shows whether the builder is getting through the list.

Works offline in any desktop browser (Windows, Mac, Chromebook) and on Android. iPhone and iPad are not supported yet.

What it does for you

• Walk-round checklist: 205 prompts across 15 rooms (kitchen, bathrooms, loft, garage, garden and more). Tap OK or Snag for each check
• Log each snag with a photo, the room, exactly where it is, the type of defect and how serious it is (cosmetic, minor, major, urgent)
• Edit the rooms to match your home. Keep more than one home
• Snag list grouped by room, with search and filters for status, room and severity
• Track every fix: To report, Reported, Fix booked, Fixed or Disputed, with dates and notes of what was agreed
• Chase flag for snags reported 28 or more days ago and still not fixed (you choose the number of days)
• Warranty end date from your moved-in date and warranty period, with days left
• NEW in v5: Dashboard with open snags, percentage fixed, snags to chase and average days to fix, plus charts of snags found and fixed per week, open snags over time, open snags by room and all snags by status. Every chart has a text version for screen readers
• NEW in v5: Calendar file (.ics) with your booked fix visits, the warranty end date and a reminder 60 days before it, for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar

How it works (3 steps)

1. Open the app and try the demo home, then press Use my data. In Setup add your home: name, address, builder, aftercare contact, moved-in date and warranty years (about 3 minutes)
2. Walk round with a laptop or Android tablet or phone. Tap OK or Snag for each check and add a photo for each snag
3. Print or email the report to your builder, mark snags Reported, and update them as fixes are booked and done. The dashboard shows what is left

Compatibility

• Tested in Google Chrome on a desktop (1440 px wide) and on Android phone sizes (390 px and 360 px wide)
• Also runs in current Edge and Firefox, and Safari on Mac
• Not iPhone or iPad yet: Safari on iOS cannot keep the app data from a downloaded file reliably, so we do not support it
• One self-contained file: no installation, no account, no subscription, nothing is sent over the internet

Good to know

• Snags and photos are saved in the browser on your device only. Download a backup (JSON) regularly and use it to move to another device
• Photos are shrunk to save space; very large numbers of photos can fill the browser storage, so back up often
• Check your builder's aftercare process and warranty terms: the app records what you report, it does not decide what the builder must fix
• Personal licence: use it for your own homes on as many devices as you like (each device keeps its own list)
• FAQ: Can my builder see or update the list? No. The list stays on your device. Send them the printed or PDF report, or paste the Copy for email text.
• FAQ: Does it replace a professional snagging inspection? No. The checklist is a prompt. A professional inspector may find things you miss.
• FAQ: Which warranty does it use? The one you enter: the moved-in date plus the number of years your builder or warranty provider gives you.
