ZOOLOGY ... Animals and why we need them
This series covers not only dogs and wolves
but many different animals and why we need them all!
What makes a dog different from a wolf? A
wild animal survives largely on its own, but a domesticated animal
has entered into a thousands-of-years-old partnership with human
beings. We feed them and protect them, and in return, many work for
us and share their companionship with us.
Domestication is not just “taming” an animal; over generations, it can
change an animal's biology as well. In part two of our series, we are
going to explore how humans and certain animals became close
partners.
