Back to School Preschool About Me Art Lesson Pre K Favorite Things Art Project
This Pre-K About Me Favorite Things Art Lesson helps little artists share who they are. Students create an artwork about themselves and their favorite things, such as colors, animals, foods, toys, places, books and activities, arranged so it looks like they are thinking about or looking at them.
It is made for Pre-K and may also suit preschool, Kindergarten readiness and early Kindergarten. Use it for Back to School, All About Me units, homeschool preschool, art centers or sub plans. Along the way, students practice drawing, cutting, gluing, painting, coloring, line making, self-expression and early literacy.

WHAT STUDENTS LEARN
Students learn that everyone has favorite things, that people like different things, and that favorites can tell a little story about who they are. They also learn that artists often make art about things that matter to them, which builds confidence, identity and personal connection.
In the art-making, they draw simple shapes and lines, add details, cut and glue elements, color a face and hair, make a colorful background and add line designs. The hands-on work supports fine motor development, oral language and early writing. The slideshow uses simple, Pre-K friendly language, and the step-by-step slides walk students through the artwork from start to finish.
