HEBREWS – After the Order by Bro H
Verse 1 — (Melkizedek Appears (Heb 7:1–3 / Gen 14)) Melkizedek, king of righteousness King of Salem, prince of peace Met Abraham returning from the battle Blessed him there with bread and feast Without descent as men record it No beginning written down A priest of the Most High forever A pattern leading to the throne Verse 2 — (The First Stage: Patriarchal Line) From Adam first the charge was given A priest to lead his house in truth The eldest bore the way of heaven And taught the path from age to youth From Seth to Noah the 8th in the line Preachers of righteousness remained A living order of the father through time Until the days of change was gained Verse 3 — (Levi in Abraham (Heb 7:4–10)) Consider how great this man was shown Even Abraham gave the tenth Levi yet within the loins of his father Paid through him by covenant strength The lesser always blessed by greater This order stood before the law A priesthood older than the altar A higher rule than men had saw Chorus Melkizedek—the order stands Through every age by Yahweh’s hand What passed through men is now complete Fulfilled in one eternal Priest A living priest who does not fade The oath of God has firmly stayed The order holds, it will not end In Jesus Christ the better covenant stands Verse 4 — (The Second Stage: Levitical Office (Heb 7:11–19)) If perfection came through Levi’s line There’d be no need for one to rise But priests stood daily in their service Still no sacrifice could suffice The law revealed but could not finish What it was given then to show A shadow pointing to fulfillment A greater priest yet to be known Verse 5 — The Oath and the Change (Heb 7:20–22) Not without an oath was this declared “A priest forever,” Yahweh said Others stood without that promise But this by oath was firmly set A better covenant now established A sure foundation now in place What God has sworn cannot be broken It stands unshaken by His grace Verse 6 — (The Third Stage: Christ the Eternal Priest (Heb 7:23–28)) Many priests because of death Could not remain within their place But He continues ever living And intercedes in truth and grace Holy, blameless, undefiled Offered once and sat on high A perfect priest forever reigning By endless life that will not die Bridge — (The Full Order Completed) One order moving through the ages First in fathers, then in priests All preparing for fulfillment In the One who brings it to its peace What men could never bring to fullness Is finished now, the work is done The priesthood reaches its perfection In Yahweh’s oath fulfilled in Son Final Chorus Melkizedek—the order stands Through every age by Yahweh’s hand What passed through men is now complete Fulfilled in one eternal Priest The veil is torn, the way is clear Our High Priest lives and draws us near The order holds, it will not end In Jesus Christ the renewed covenant stands
