The Cow to the Carton

It is so easy for children today to think that food magically

appears on grocery store shelves or in the refrigerator. If we want to raise mindful

consumers, we have to reconnect them to the dirt, the farmers, and the animals that

sustain us. Tracing a simple glass of milk all the way back to the cow teaches biology,

economics, and above all, deep gratitude for the hard work that puts food on our

tables.
