  But what is the truth? Surely this far-fetched theory has a basis of truth in some cases. But in some other cases the discoveries of the Greeks, or their theories about the world, found resonance with today's scientists and formed the basis for several of the modern ones. 

The discovery of steam power, the use of precision clocks, the measurement of the circumference of the Earth, the use of analogue computers, the coding of messages, the construction of mechanical and pneumatic automation, and other applications were known two thousand years ago to ancient Greeks.
