Someday (BL)

A short, sweet Thai BL story designed to help you make the leap from studying the Thai writing system to actually reading Thai.

Someday (สักวัน) is a Level 1 (L1) title in the Start Reading Thai series. It is intended for learners who already know the basics of Thai script — including consonants, vowels and tone markers — but are still building confidence reading complete sentences and natural Thai. The story is presented entirely in Thai script, without transliteration, so you can practise recognising words and patterns directly on the page.

The story follows Leo, a young foreigner travelling around Thailand. During a visit to a small mountain village in Nan province, he stops at a local café and meets Win, a handsome young barista with an interesting tattoo on his arm. Curious about the Thai word สักวัน (someday), Leo looks it up online and returns to the café to find out more.

Win explains that he has always dreamed of seeing the sea but has never had the chance. His tattoo is a reminder that someday he'll make that dream come true. As Leo continues visiting the café, the two boys get to know each other, share their dreams and begin to develop feelings for one another. But Leo is only passing through, and sooner or later he'll have to leave. Could a chance meeting in a little mountain café turn into something more?

Along the way, you'll encounter practical vocabulary connected with travel, nature and landscapes, appearance, tattoos, dreams and ambitions, feelings, attraction and everyday conversations. The accompanying vocabulary section also introduces useful expressions and common story language, helping you build vocabulary you can recognise outside the book too.
