The Visser twist socks were designed for the February SSOK (MKAL) in the Sokkenbreien group on Ravelry. The pattern was inspired by the theme of the month, “visserstruien” or Geurnsey jumpers. The pattern also mainly uses knit and purl stitches to create patterning, which is the technique for February in group. The SSOK is knit cuff down and has a heel flap and gusset construction. The pattern is available in 3 different circumference sizes (see “Sizing”) and the foot length is completely customisable. I hope you enjoy the SSOK!
Sizing
The pattern is available in 3 sizes: small (with a cast on of 56 stitches), medium (with a cast on of 64 stitches) and large (with a cast on of 72 stitches). Foot length can be adjusted to taste.
Gauge
The gauge is 36 stitches per 4 inches and 44 rows per 4 inches on 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needles in stockinette.
Materials
• 400 meters (440 yards) fingering weight yarn. The pattern is best suited to a (semi)solid or tonal yarn.
• 2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular or double pointed needles.
• Cable needle.
The pattern can be worked from either written or charted instructions depending on your preference.
