Trace Lines Worksheets Fine Motor Activities Pre K Kindergarten Pencil Control
This Trace Lines for Fine Motor Control workbook gives Pre-K, Kindergarten and primary students repeated practice tracing a wide variety of lines and shapes. It builds the pencil control and fine motor skills young learners need for early drawing and writing.
The pages mix skill practice with playful themed images such as rockets, cars, mice and flowers, so tracing feels more like a game. It is made for teachers, art teachers and homeschoolers, and it works as a full workbook or as single handouts.

HOW TO USE IT
Print and photocopy the pages single-sided or double-sided and staple them into a student workbook, or photocopy single pages as individual handouts. You can also build custom booklets based on student interests, or add pages to duo tangs for student art collections. Use them for fine motor practice, morning work, centers, quiet work, early finishers, sub plans or homeschool practice.
For an art extension, the lesson plan suggests having students trace with crayon and then paint the background with watercolor. Students watch the paint move away from the crayon lines, a simple crayon resist. Along the way they practice fine motor control, pencil grip, line and shape awareness, hand-eye coordination, visual tracking and pre-writing skills.
