This is a pattern to knit a beanie worked using the stranded colourwork technique. It is worked from the bottom rib up with decreases shaping the crown.

There are 3 animals to choose from: Bear, Badger, and Lion.

Bears, badgers, and lions are all fissiped carnivores; any member of the suborder Fissipedia, carnivorous mammals that have separate toes, as bears, badgers, dogs, cats, and raccoons.

Included are instructions for the Ladderback/Invisible Jacquard technique if you would like a less visible tacking of floats over longer single colour areas.

yarn:

Shetland Light Worsted Weight by Five Sisters Farm; DK; 100% Shetland; 190yds / 174m / 100g

approximate yarn amounts:

colour A (Paisley, dark) - 87yds / 80m

colour B (Primrose, light) - 75yds / 70m

needles:

3.0mm (us no 2.5) circular, 16in/41cm

3.75mm (us no 5) circular, 16in/41cm

DPNs for crown shaping

gauge: 22 sts x 26 rows = 4in/10cm

measured over stranded stockinette on larger needles

Some knitters work stranded and single-coloured at different gauges. Change needles, as needed, to keep gauge the same throughout.
