I designed this cowl to use a 10 skein pack of DK minis in a fun striped sequence. Once I was done knitting the original, I thought it would look really lovely in a 2 color black and white version. You could do as many or as little colors as you would like, even a solid with the little texture might be fun too.


If you would like to use fingering weight, you could hold it double to meet the DK gauge or hold it with a mohair for a more drapey cowl. The yardage amounts would differ from using DK, so just be aware.


This cowl is knit in the round and has increases to lend to a funnel shape so it will sit better when worn.


10 color sample knit with Emma’s Yarn 10 pack of Spectacular DK Smalls in ‘SweetHeart’. Used between 10-15g of each color, knit in color order given with the set.


2 color sample knit with Kelbourne Woolens Scout in ‘Natural’ 51g and ‘Charcoal’ 54g.


Materials:


Yarn: 10 color version

10 colors of 20g (51 yds) mini skeins or leftovers of DK weight yarn

OR…

Yarn: 2 color version

C1: 60-75g (164-206 yds) DK weight yarn

C2: 60-75g (164-206 yds) DK weight yarn

US #5/3.75mm 16-20” circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
