The Rose-Red City
Jordan is a country of thresholds — between desert and sea, ancient and modern, and, most of all, between stranger and guest. This journey follows them all: from the layered antiquity of Amman through Roman Jerash and the biblical landscapes of Madaba, down into the wilderness of Dana, and on to the moments that stop you cold — the Treasury glowing at the end of Petra's Siq, the silence and stars of Wadi Rum, floating on the Dead Sea at the lowest point on Earth. It ends where Jordan always does: around a table piled with mansaf, where the country stops being something you observe and becomes something you take part in.
