DRAGON ACADEMY UNIT STUDIES

DRAGON ACADEMY is my new unit study using the Wings of Fire books, 1-6 for language arts. You will also be studying science, history, geography, art and IT.

This is a literature based unit study and does not include required books which you will need to purchase separately.

There are three writing projects that form part of the language arts as well as fun dragon themed activities (scrolls). Chapter questions and writing activities focus on the chapters read, characters, and language use. You will be doing dragon grammar, talon writing for copy work, and the science focuses on the prey center (kitchen chemistry). Biomes (the dragons kindly live in various biomes we can study) Biodiversity and geology. Geography is included with the biomes study but there is also a focus on China.

In IT, you will be doing Python (dragon secret language 😉) and building your own website (dragon style, if they choose) In art, you will be learning to draw various dragons and mythical creatures. Studying the legends of dragons in history. One of the three language arts writing projects is to make your own mythical creature’s magazine.
