Gratitude and Thankfulness | Vol. 9
As a mom of five, I am no stranger to the daily ups and downs of raising children. I’ve seen the excitement in their eyes when things go their way and the frustration when life doesn’t unfold as they hoped. I’ve wiped away tears over broken games, missing homework, and hurt feelings. But one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned—and continue to teach—is the power of gratitude and thankfulness.
Gratitude isn’t just about saying "thank you" when someone hands you a snack. It’s about seeing the good, even when things don’t go as planned. It’s about recognizing blessings—both big and small—and appreciating the people, moments, and opportunities God places in our lives. And as parents, we have the privilege of shaping our children’s hearts to be thankful in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
This book follows Erica Larson, a bright, energetic 10-year-old girl learning what it truly means to be thankful. Through everyday situations—struggles, friendships, disappointments, and victories—she discovers that gratitude isn’t just about getting what you want. It’s about learning to see and appreciate what you already have.
My hope is that as you and your little one journey through these stories, you’ll find opportunities to talk, reflect, and grow together. Gratitude is a habit—one that, when nurtured, brings joy, peace, and a heart that sees God’s goodness in every season.
