Rock me Tonight
Rock Me Tonight
Sometimes you don't plan a song.
It simply appears.
Rock Me Tonight came from the part of me that grew up with the sound of electric guitars, big drums, Hammond organs and that wonderful feeling that a song doesn't always have to explain itself.
There is a little bit of the music I loved in the 70s and 80s in this piece — the energy of rock bands, the freedom of a guitar solo, the slightly excessive attitude of a great stage, and the simple desire to turn the volume up and enjoy the moment.
But I didn't want to recreate the past.
I wanted to take that feeling and let it become something of my own.
No opera.
No orchestra.
No complicated concept.
Just a guitar, a beat, energy — and the invitation:
Rock me tonight.
Sometimes after writing symphonies, operas and spoken words, you simply have to put your foot on the floor, turn up the amplifier and have some fun.
