A 12-month organisation-wide digital intranet licence covering the complete Patient Safety 101 resource library; five practitioner-authored guides addressing the full spectrum of frontline patient safety development, from induction and preceptorship through to speaking up, international nurse integration and staff recovery after adverse events.

These are practitioner-authored workbooks and field guides designed for use in team sessions, governance meetings, induction programmes and pastoral support frameworks, not e-learning compliance modules. They complement existing NHS mandatory training by giving staff the practical tools, frameworks and language to apply patient safety principles across every stage of clinical practice.

What is included

  • Patient Safety 101- Core Digital Pack
  • Speak Up
  • IEN Field Guide
  • Preceptorship Companion Guide
  • The Second Victim Roadmap

Patient Safety 101 — Core Digital Pack

The flagship patient safety handbook for nurses and healthcare professionals working in the NHS and beyond. Covers incident reporting, human factors, safety culture, risk, escalation, documentation, medication safety and systemic thinking. Built on primary research with 50 practising nurses. Foreword by Wellington Makala, Chief Nursing Officer.

Speak Up

A practitioner workbook for building speaking-up confidence and psychological safety at ward and team level. Features the CLEAR™ Escalation Standard with practical scripts and frameworks for raising concerns at every level of an organisation. Directly supports Freedom to Speak Up Guardian networks and provides tangible evidence for CQC Well-Led assessments.

The IEN Field Guide

A practical integration resource for internationally educated nurses and the clinical teams and managers who support them. Covers professional transition, safe communication, documentation standards, escalation confidence and navigating NHS systems. Informed by FOI research published in Nursing Times (June 2026) documenting a 60% rise in IEN fitness-to-practise referrals over three years.

Preceptorship Companion Guide

A structured supervision and competency development tool for preceptors, practice assessors and ward managers supporting newly qualified and newly appointed nurses. Takes the Patient Safety 101 framework and turns it into actionable preceptorship conversations, reflective checkpoints and competency milestones embedded in everyday practice.

The Second Victim Roadmap

A supportive resource for staff, managers and pastoral leads responding to the psychological impact of patient safety incidents, complaints and adverse events. Covers recognition of second victim experience, structured recovery pathways, and safe return to practice, directly addressing the staff retention and wellbeing pressures that follow serious incidents.

Who this licence is for

Chief Nurses, Directors of Nursing, Directors of Workforce, Heads of Nurse Education, PSIRF Leads, Pastoral Care Teams and Senior Clinical Educators in NHS trusts, ICBs, private healthcare groups and care organisations who want a comprehensive, clinician-authored resource suite that supports their workforce across the complete patient safety development journey, from day one induction to long-term governance maturity.

Why the Complete Five?

The five resources in this licence work together as a system. Patient Safety 101 builds the foundational knowledge. The Preceptorship Companion embeds it in supervised practice. Speak Up creates the culture for concerns to be raised safely. The IEN Field Guide ensures internationally educated nurses are integrated rather than isolated. The Second Victim Roadmap ensures staff are supported when things go wrong. Together they address every critical pressure point in workforce patient safety; induction, integration, escalation, learning and recovery.
