
Knitted Sloth Cushion
A free pattern for our knitted Sloth cushion. He is very squaishy, and cuddly. We refer to him as Fred the emotional support sloth. He's 50cm x 43cm x 17cm using the tension below. He has gorgeous Dorset button eyes, and the instructions for these are in the pattern.
You will need: West Yorkshire Spinners roving Aran Bluefaced Leicester Fleece in dark brown x 250g/ 375m; West Yorkshire Spinners roving Aran Bluefaced Leicester Fleece in ecru x 50g/ 75m cream; Regia Premium Merino Yak 4ply charcoal 60m; 250g stuffing; 2 hand turned mahogany rings; 4.5mm x 80cm circular needles and an 60cm cord; 1 x 4.5mm straight needle; yarn needle; size 16 tapestry needle; button bobbin (optional); 2 stitch markers; scissor.
If you prefer not to use a roving yarn I would recommend West Yorkshire Spinners Aran Bluefaced Leicester Fleece, which comes in the same colour range but is a plied wool.
Tension: 13 sts = 10cm knitted in stocking stitch with 4.5mm needles in the round.
Abbreviations:
K2tog tbl - knit 2 together through the back loop
K2tog - knit 2 together (insert the needle in the next 2 stitches as if to knit, knit the two together)
P2tog - Purl 2 together (insert the needle in the next 2 stitches as if to purl, purl the two together)
m1 - make one. With the left needle pick up the bar between the stitches from in front. Knit into the back of the stitch.
m1p - make one stitch in purl. With the left needle pick up the bar between the stitches from behind. Purl into the front of the stitch; pm - place marker; sl - slip; st(s) - stitch(es); WS - wrong side; * * - repeat between asterisks
