Sun Sleeves

Fun gauntlets to protect your forearms from the sun. 

I designed these at the request of my partner who stands on soccer pitches and blacktops several hours a week in the California sun. Her Irish complexion needs all the protection it can get!

Construction
Worked from the wrist to the elbow in the round with increase striping in between. (If you do not need to increase as much for the upper forearm, simply work a plain striping row without any increases or work the hurdles longer.

wrist: 3"; upper forearm: 5.5"; length: 13"

Hurdles is a rib-type pattern meaning is has natural stretch to it, so even though the fiber doesn't really stretch, the fabric will.

Rowan Softyak DK 50g
76% Cotton, 15% Yak, 9% Nylon
Green 00240 - Color A
Yellow 00252 - Color B
(1) full skein each
This yarn has the neatest construction and is really lovely to work with and cool to wear.

Needle
US6 / 4mm DPNs (Fear not! I have a tutorial.)
(or circulars long enough for magic loop)

Gauge
23 sts x 50 rows = 4”/5cm
Two-Color Hurdles, blocked
(gauge is not critical other than for yarn amount)
