Mountain Creek Shawl
To hear the mountain creek always makes me feel so relaxed. Knitting Brioche gives me the same feeling. Especially two coloured Brioche. This technique is simply settling. The rhythm of the stitches calms me and allows me to be in the present moment. With this design and its repeated motif, it is just to let your fingers take over and breathe easy.
My knitting philosophy is that each knitter should decide how to use their knitting time to create a knitted piece that suits their own purpose. This is why, when I design my patterns, I allow room for changes and personal modifications. Choose your own yarn weight, your own colours and knit the shawl as large or as small as you like.
This a triangular shawl, wide wingspan and not too deep. It is easy to adjust the size to your preference.
Yarn - You will need 400 to 600 meters of fingering or sport weight yarn, in each colour, to complete this project. For a total of 800 to 1200 meters, which is recommended to create an average size shawl.
It is recommended that you choose high contrasting colours when selecting your yarn for this pattern. However, if you choose yarns with very little contrast then the motif within this pattern is most visually pleasing when the lightest colour choice is used for Colour 1.
This shawl has been test knit in different yarn weights and quantities. From 400 meters to 600 meters per 100 grams with 170 grams to 285 grams of meterage used.
The wingspan varies from 180 cm to approximately 250 cm in length and 75 cm to 95 cm in depth.
The pattern has been test knit and tech edited for clarity of use.
