Choupal pattern fulfils both these needs. It starts with a mindless stockinette section, but as the lace starts, it needs your full attention.
Once the project is blocked, you have a long crescent-shaped shawl to wrap yourself in, feeling the warmth of the soft merino yarn and the satisfaction of using a unique accessory made by and for you!
The border uses variations of the lace stitch “Create” by Naomi Parkhurst.
Yarn: Dyed by Alfinete Sul, (880 m / 962 yds) or other fingering yarn with a good stitch definition
Size: 230 cm x 55 cm (90,55” x 21,65”)
Needles: 4 mm / US 6 (or other suitable to obtain gauge or the right texture for you)
Gauge: 30 rows and 18 sts = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4” x 4” (in stockinette stitch, after blocking)
Notions: Clip on stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking wires and pins
