Before you begin

Read the adult setup and each selected recipe and experiment before starting. Adults handle knives, heat, hot liquids and appliances. Some chapters require a stove, microwave, blender, refrigerator or freezer; the potato experiment uses suitable cooking baskets. Check ingredient labels and individual allergies. Recipe food and observation-only LAB samples stay separate; never taste LAB samples.
