These charming fingerless mitts are inspired by the beautiful area in which I live - The Forest of Dean on the English/Welsh border of Gloucestershire - and feature an all over lace pattern that resembles a forest stretching away into the distance ready for exploring and adventures!

The mitts are knitted flat and top down then stitched up leaving a gap for your thumb.

Both pieces are the same with no shaping to worry about which makes them an ideal first lace project!
Lace pattern is charted and written.

Skills required
  • knit, purl, yo, ktog, ssk
  • follow chart or written instructions for lace
  • seaming
  • Soaking and blocking is essential to show off the great lace pattern!
Gauge
25sts x 35 rows= 10cm/4” over lace pattern on larger needles, after blocking.

2.75mm and 3mm straight needles, (or size needed to obtain gauge)

Finished dimensions- one size
