Course curriculum
This course includes five modules to walk you through four levels of planning: word, sentence, paragraph and whole text. Learn a little about the research at each level along the way. Tasks are designed to help you plug and play into your unit plans. Each module also now includes a "Putting it All Together" lesson with examples from real classrooms.
By the end of the course, you'll have a fully mapped unit for actually teaching reading comprehension, using your curricular text, and a certificate of completion for professional development hours.

7Congratulations!
What Teachers like you are saying:
I feel everything was so nicely organized! Going into it, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep up literally because I am getting older and the technology is becoming very overwhelming. But I am proud of myself for being able to do this.
-Nicole, reading teacher grades 6-8
We teachers of MS/HS have been taught to teach literature but we aren't taught to teach reading because the idea is that elementary teachers teach students how to read and MS/HS teachers teach application of that reading knowledge through literature and writing. What a wonderful world that would be, but the reality is that we need to continue teaching how to read as students encounter more sophisticated material. This challenge is what I actually needed than what I was doing "to try to do something" to help me help my students.
