What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is exercise for the joints and the connective tissues. The connective tissue is the sinew that connects everything in your body, like one big web. We exercise these tissues by applying a light level of stress over a long period of time with static stretches held between 3-5 minutes.
A consistent practice can help with:
- Improved flexibility and range of motion.
- Release of physical tension from the body.
- Gentle release of stress stored in deep tissues.
- Healthy tissue hydration and joint support.
- Relief from tension-related back discomfort.
- Enhanced body awareness.
- Maintaining mobility into your golden years.
- Feeling an immediate sense of freedom in your body!
This deck is designed for all levels.
About the Author:
Margaret Flock discovered yoga after years of overexerting in traditional exercise. She gravitated to the Yin practice because of the immediate effects it has in relieving tension from the body. She became certified through Douglas Johnson who studied directly with Paul Grilley, the father of modern Yin Yoga. Margaret teaches in the Atlanta Metro Area and online.
