The story of the Gava surname: where the name began, a place shaped by water, the nineteenth-century bishop and the earliest records of northeastern Italy, the town near Treviso where the Gavas are most numerous, the map of the regions, the table of countries it reached, and one Gava who left his mark.

At the end, a family tree to fill in and a surname scroll to print.
