"One Child's Journey" (Advance Creative Writing)

In this classroom-ready historical fiction unit, students collaborate as a “publishing team” to plan, draft, revise, and present a connected chapter sequence (novel/novella) centered on a Chinese child born during China’s One-Child Policy era (1979–2015). Students learn to balance historical accuracy with compelling storytelling, with explicit instruction on respectful cultural representation, language use, and ethical writing choices.
