In this 1st volume of The Purple Plate, discover and explore the purple foods group and their God‑given nutrients that echo the protection, care, and intention for human design. The Purple Plate invites you to see food not merely as fuel, but as spiritual sustenance, as evidence that creation was crafted with beauty and purpose.

The Purple Plate aims to shine some light on our naturally deep-colored foods and to advocate increasing our intake of them. It is Not to pin a “blue ribbon” on the darker foods over the lighter ones. It is simply to spread awareness to health seekers about the importance of optimizing antioxidant intake consistently, and to avoid buying the same-colored foods over and over again.

Balanced, nutrient-rich meals require that we include eating a wide variety of colored foods. It is not accomplished with extreme fad diets, such as those seen on YouTube, of eating just purple, yellow, white, or whatever.

The Purple Diet, like other fad diets, restrict us from eating a wide variety of health-promoting foods. Most “diets,” these days focus on high amounts of protein rather than simple & complex carbohydrates. There is likely more harm in that than eating a specific color of food for 3 days, but the underlying problem with that is excluding a great number of other health-promoting foods based on something as limiting as color.

The Purple Plate aims to help others become aware of when to use darker-colored foods more often and why. Whether you choose to eat more antioxidant-rich purple foods when you're sick or in healing, or when your extremely stressed is completely ok and up to you. If you prefer to include them a only a few times a week is also great.

Purple foods such as blueberries, black grapes, purple kale, acai, plums, purple cabbage, beets, black beans, and rice are endowed with anthocyanins and other unique antioxidants that shield the body from cellular stress, protect the brain, and support cardiovascular health. Their deep color is not accidental. It is nutritionally and spiritually significant.

This project I've started several years ago has grown not only in terms of nutrition & health, but spiritually. For that reason, I've decided to publish this information in volumes that focus on specific recipes and health issues.

The first volume will include juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, and explain why we need a boost of antioxdiants in order to combat chronic stress.
