Continuing Education Course: Telehealth Psychological Assessments for ADHD and Autism (3 CEs)

Telehealth has been shown to have comparable effectiveness to in-person services for a variety of mental health supports, including psychological assessment. Properly trained mental health providers can accurately diagnose ADHD and autism in a telehealth setting, though this requires a specialized skill set, including being able to gather information, conduct mental status examinations, and administer testing measures through a telehealth platform.

Autistic and ADHD individuals seeking diagnostic assessments experience barriers to interacting with the system and accessing care. While not a perfect fix, telehealth can reduce and even remove some of these barriers. However, this is only beneficial if the providers administering these assessments have appropriate training to conduct evaluations through telehealth.

This course explores the most current research, field standards, ethical considerations, and practical skills needed to conduct ADHD and autism evaluations in the telehealth setting. Participants will learn the limitations and considerations when conducting these evaluations and how to complete valid, accurate assessments for ADHD and autism via telehealth.
