LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE DELIVERY IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT

This study was undertaken as a result of poor service delivery in communities due to ineffective leadership which lacks knowledge, skills as well as deficient governance which lacks accountability, transparency and community participation. t explores how leadership quality, accountability, and decision-making affect the performance of local councils in providing essential services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The research further identifies challenges hindering efficient governance at the grassroots level and proposes strategies for improving transparency, responsiveness, and community participation.
