Captain Hunt thinks they should run. He brought the expedition to this remote, mysterious island to save a highly endangered giant tortoise, not to get everybody killed!

But the others disagree. The dragon may look big and bad and dangerous, but they can’t bear to just stand by and watch it die. Even Terry, the expedition’s artist and youngest member, finds his fascination overcoming his fear.

One way or another, they’re going closer. Even if the species they end up needing to save turns out to be their own!
