The Christmas Break Pack, ages 7 to 9
Six pages for the long afternoons between Christmas and going back to school.
Page one is a scavenger hunt, twenty things to find: a decoration older than you, a light that has gone out, a card from somebody you have never met, the first light to come on down the street.
Page two is Would You Rather, sixteen questions, and the rule is that you have to say why. Open all your presents at once, or one a day until New Year? Give a perfect present, or get one?
Page three is four pen games on one sheet: dots and boxes, tic tac toe, design the worst sweater you can, and draw the present you want without writing anything so somebody has to guess it.
Page four is a word search. Sixteen Christmas words hidden across, down and diagonally, none of them backwards.
Page five is a week of the break, one box a day, with a different question each day: the best thing you ate, the funniest thing, something you did for somebody else.
Page six is thank you notes, done in the week off while they still remember who gave them what. There is a fill in the blank note to copy until they do not need it, then room to write one of their own.
One pen each is all any of it needs.
