Princess Elinor and Bramble, Her Falcon

Step into Tudor England with Princess Elinor and Bramble, her very own Peregrine Falcon.

This 52-page printable story and coloring book follows Princess Elinor, who has come to live at Windsor Castle with her family and her new peregrine falcon, Bramble. Windsor Castle was one of King Henry VIII’s many royal residences, and the King returned there whenever it suited the travels and needs of his royal household.

Over the course of that first year at Windsor, Elinor bonds with Bramble as they explore walled gardens, quiet libraries, and other corners of castle life. Bramble remains amazingly calm when Elinor visits the royal stables, overseen by the Master of the Horse and his staff of grooms and farriers.

A royal falconer named William helps Elinor learn how to care for Bramble. His gentle way with the falcon teaches Elinor patience and gives her the confidence to earn Bramble’s trust. In time, she watches her falcon take flight for the first time, an accomplishment she treasures. Each visit to Windsor brings a new place to discover, a new person to meet, or another small mystery to uncover.

The book includes 24 detailed black-and-white coloring illustrations, matching story pages, and short historical notes that introduce children to Tudor life in a warm, approachable way.
