When a mother of three sons packs up their life for a fresh start, the house waiting for them isn’t just old; it’s armed. Hidden security cameras watch every hallway and view every door. Flashlights are tucked away within every room. And somewhere in the basement, a digital clock is counting down to something nobody in town will ever say out loud.

Her father, a retired police detective, arrived three months early to “get things ready.” He insists everything’s fine, but her fifteen-year-old son, who’s spent years quietly watching over his younger brothers, isn’t so sure.
