Paying for What Comes Next: Funding Session Kit for Indigenous Students (Grades 11-12)
A ready-to-run, 45-minute education funding session for First Nations, Inuit and Métis students in Grades 11 and 12.
Built for guidance counsellors, teachers, Indigenous student support workers, education offices and community programs. You don't need to be a funding expert: the slides, script and handouts do the work. Prep takes about 15 minutes.
What's included
- 14 presentation slides (PDF): what school really costs, where funding comes from, the three federal post-secondary pathways (PSSSP and UCEPP, the Inuit Post-Secondary Education Strategy, and the Métis Nation Post-Secondary Education Strategy), who to contact, how to read a funding listing, deadlines and documents
- Facilitator guide (PDF): a word-for-word script for every slide, a timing plan, a prep checklist, a Local Contacts page to fill in for your community, facilitation tips and ways to adapt the session
- 4 print-ready student handouts (PDF): My Next Step, Reading a Funding Listing, My School-Year Costs, and a Funding Tracker
Students leave with

Based on the 2026-27 national program guidelines from Indigenous Services Canada. This kit is general information to help students start their search. It does not decide eligibility, and it always points students to the official source.
