The 1960 World Series was one of the most thrilling Series in history. It featured "The Shot Heard 'Round the World," Pirates second baseman Bill Mazeroski's 9th inning solo home run that took down the heavily favored New York Yankees. You can now replay this thrilling 7-game series using On Base Baseball.

Why On Base Baseball?

On Base is a sabermetric-driven game that plays with the ease and speed of the classic dice games that led to the creation of giants such as APBA and Strat-o-matic. Each player's roll outcomes are based on advanced stats, such as FIP and Batting Runs. In this 1960s World Series set, time and attention was given to each batter's outcomes so that they closely match the player's real life percentages.

On Base Baseball also has a unique pitcher/hitter interaction where each roll starts with the pitcher card and some at bats will be directly influenced by the pitcher.

Both the Pirates and the Yankees rosters come with 15 position player cards and 15 pitcher cards, giving you access to every player who played in the Series. You'll also receive the On Base Baseball Guide, printable scorecard, and the On Base Game Engine Chart which allows you to replay any teams in history using a single chart (watch this video to learn more: https://youtu.be/IKanJPRMt78).
You will get a ZIP (949KB) file

Loved it!

Great game! The game engine chart version is outstanding, but I think this system really shines with individual player cards! I hope this game continues with both game engine and carded players!

1960 World Series

I have played the series twice and the Pirates have been victorious in both instances. It has been the Pittsburgh pitching and timely hitting that has made the difference. The Bombers had some homers—Maris, Mantle, and Moose—but mostly bases empty ones. The pitching was so-so and the bullpen was not great. The Bucs threw 4 shutouts, either last being a 1 hitter by Law complete game. And he didn’t even reach his stamina number. So I play with the cards for individual results and also either 60s game engine. I thought the Yankees would wipe out the Bucs but learned how good their arms were-/especially Face and Labine out of the pen. Very good product. And Brian answers your questions timely.
