CORRELATION AND COMPARISON

510 PAGES
OVER 4000 B&W AND COLOUR IMAGES
UNLOCKED PDF DOCUMENT

This E-BOOK looks at the form of popular music known as SURF MUSIC, particularly American Surf Music in Australia; the various releases (in all their different guises) and the effect they had on the local teenagers and music industry.
The book also attempts to compare Australian Surf Music and American Surf Music – the differences and the similarities (“Correlation & Comparison”) – in music (including all the different off-shoots such as hot-rod music, snow skiing music, skateboard music, etc., etc.), the recording artists involved (on both sides of the Pacific), television shows featuring surf music, the social aspects accompanying surf music and lots more.
Also documented is Australian Surf Music product released in America.
A detailed and exhaustive look and documentation of the STOMP (aka the Surfers Stomp) dance craze is likewise undertaken, focusing on both Australia (where it was HUGE) and America.
For Beach Boys fans, there is also a detailed account of the Beach Boys’ first Australian tour (SURFSIDE ’64, January 1964) and a look into LARRY DENTON, the mysterious singer who Brian Wilson produced a few weeks after returning to America following the Surfside ’64 tour package, in which Denton was also a participant.
Brian Wilson’s Warner Bros. Records sessions with both The Honeys and The Castells (undertaken at the same time as those with Denton) are also documented in detail.
