Run to the Sun - Pamplona's Fiesta de San Fermín and Feria Del Toro
Jim Hollander has documented the internationally famed Fiesta de San Fermín and the unique Feria del Toro in Pamplona, northern Spain, for 55 years. Jim first attended the fiesta, known for its running with the bulls, at age 13 in the 1960s and has been returning almost every year since. At first, he ran with the bulls some 90 times, and in 1977, he chose to photograph the spectacle and the wider festival. This eBook is 725 pages and is an expanded version of the original Run to the Sun (2002), published in hardcover editions. The eBook covers all aspects of the 8-day fiesta, including the “encierros” or bull-runs and the “corridas” or bullfights, as well as the party atmosphere, the wonderful food of Navarra, the dancing and singing of the revelers, and the general party atmosphere of the grandest festival on Earth, whichtakes place for 208 non-stop hours. This is a documentation of the grand fiesta for potential revelers who wish to go, for those who know the fiesta well, and for aficionados in general who love los toros bravos. Una Fiesta Sin Igual!
