Elisha: Life And Ministry

I have lived long enough in ministry to witness different waves of revival, different generations of church leaders, and sadly, different seasons of spiritual decline. I’ve seen the fire fall, and I’ve also seen it fade. But one thing has remained constant in every move of God: He always raises a voice, a vessel, a remnant. And in this generation, I believe God is calling for Elishas—those who don’t just admire the power of their spiritual fathers, but are willing to walk in their footsteps, serve in their shadows, and carry their mantle forward with integrity.

The ministry of Elisha is both a prophetic model and a divine mandate. We are not lacking in charisma today, but we are dangerously short of consecration. We have gifts without groanings, influence without intimacy, and platforms without process. Elisha's life confronts us with a higher standard: one of deep loyalty, silent preparation, spiritual hunger, and generational vision.

When I first heard the author teach on the life of Elisha, I saw in him not just a scholar of the Word, but a man who embodies the very spirit of what he writes. I’ve watched him grow in grace, labor in the secret place, and pour into others with the same urgency that Elisha showed in pursuing Elijah. His burden is not to entertain but to equip; not to impress, but to impart.
