Book One: The Father

The first part is rooted in experience.

It follows a man shaped by the land, by conflict, and by political and social structures that reward strength, punish weakness, and leave little room for moral purity. Hunting, authority, dominance, fear, and control are not metaphors here — they are facts of daily life.

Africa in this book is not romantic. It is contested, exploited, violent, and hierarchical. Power shifts constantly, and those who fail to understand it become prey — whether they are animals or people.
