The Character Dossier | TALENTiQ

A believable character is built through specific choices, not vague ideas.

The TALENTiQ Character Dossier is a practical workbook that helps actors organise their character research and turn it into clear, playable decisions.

Instead of getting lost in endless notes, you can use this dossier to bring the essential elements of your character into one structured place.

Inside the dossier, you will explore:

• Circumstances: Who your character is, where they are, what is happening and what pressure they face.
• The Character’s World: Their environment, secrets, fears and defining memories.
• The Objective: What they want, what stands in their way and what is at stake.
• Development: The character’s through-line, transformation and possible surprises.
• Scene Beats: Break scenes into beats with clear action verbs.
• Readiness Check: Assess whether you can improvise as your character for five minutes without losing the character.

The dossier also helps you identify what is still missing in your preparation and decide what to work on next.

Who is it for?

Actors preparing for auditions, film scenes, self-tapes or a new role who want a clear, practical overview of their character work.

Use it alongside your script and return to it as your understanding of the role develops.
