Most DIY paint jobs go wrong before the first coat: two trips back to the store, a gallon short on the second coat, or nobody remembering the color code when a wall needs a touch-up. This planner covers the whole job on a few pages.

What's inside:

• Paint Quantity & Cost Calculator (Excel / Google Sheets): enter length, width, ceiling height, doors, windows and coats for up to 12 rooms. It works out wall and ceiling square footage, exact gallons, gallons to buy (rounded up) and cost. You enter the coverage from YOUR can.

• P01 Room Measure & Paint Quantity Worksheet: the pencil version, with a worked example

• P02 Color & Finish Decision Log: with a sheen quick guide

• P03 Supplies & Shopping Checklist

• P04 Room Prep Checklist: with a pre-1978 lead-paint safety note

• P05 Painting Day Plan: ceiling, then walls, then trim, step by step

• P06 Paint Record & Touch-Up Log: brand, color code, sheen and where the leftovers are stored

Word + PDF, US Letter. Instant download.

Who it's for: Homeowners, renters (with landlord permission), first-time DIYers and anyone repainting a room or a whole house.

Planning template only. Not contractor, safety, legal or financial advice. Always follow your paint's label and safety data sheet.

FAQ

How accurate is the gallon estimate? It's as accurate as the coverage number you enter. Use the sq ft per gallon on your can, and buy extra for textured or porous walls or big color changes.

Does it include primer? P01 and P03 prompt you to decide on primer. Calculate it separately, using the primer can's coverage.
