Constructions Notes
Bridges is knit in the round from the bottom up. It is separated at the underarm and knit flat to the shoulders.
The sleeves are picked up from the armhole and worked in the round to the cuff. Stitches are bound off to shape the crew neck, and the ribbed neckband is picked up and worked in finishing.
Yarn: 940 (1000, 1080, 1140) (1210, 1270, 1350) (1470, 1600, 1730) / yards / 860 (915, 988, 1042) (1107, 1162, 1235) (1344, 1463, 1582) meters of Aran weight yarn
Finished Bust Circumference: 38 (40.25, 42.75, 45) (47.25, 49, 51.75) (56.25, 61, 65.5)” / 96.5 (102, 108, 113.5) (119.5, 125, 131) (142, 153.5, 165) cm It is recommended to choose a size with 7-10” / 20-25 cm positive ease, though the exact fit is up to the knitter. Sample shown in size 47.25” / 119.5 cm with 9” / 25 cm of positive ease.
Needles: US size 9 / 5.5 mm or size needed for gauge - circular needle for body (36” / 80 cm or longer) and DPNs, 16” / 40 cm circular, or long circular for magic loop for sleeves.
US size 8 / 5 mm or one size smaller than needle used for gauge - 16” / 40 cm circular needle for neckband.
Gauges: 14 sts and 22 rows / rounds = 4” / 10 cm in Broken Seed Stitch on larger needles
14 sts = 3” / 7.5 cm in Branch Cable pattern
58 sts = 10.75” / 27.5 cm in Double Diamond Cable pattern
Notions: 4 stitch markers for center cable section (You will need 8 stitch markers if you wish to divide
individual cables within center section. The extra markers are not mentioned in the pattern.)
