Asynchronous Psychodiagnostic Assessment (3 CEs)
The field of psychology has changed significantly and rapidly in the past few years, with the sudden uptick in telehealth services starting in 2020 and emerging research on best practices for assessing and diagnosing mental health diagnoses. Telehealth and asynchronous assessment offers accessible and affordable diagnosing, but like all the services we provide, the psychologist must be appropriately trained in order to competently offer this service.
This course provides information about the research surrounding telehealth assessment, particularly asynchronous assessment, diagnosis, and mental health treatment. It lays out ethical considerations and best practices for psychological assessment using current available technologies and validated instruments for assessing risk and safety. Upon completion of this course, participants will have the information necessary to conduct asynchronous evaluations competently and ethically.
This course consists of a two-hour, 11-minute lecture pre-recorded lecture and a self-paced homework assignment lasting approximately one hour, for a total of three continuing education credits.
