Kendali Grace Jackson, a young girl who suffered the poor decisions of her grieving mother after her father’s sudden death, is directionless upon graduating high school. Her mother wants her to attend college on one of several scholarships she's been offered. Her boss wants her to train as a manager and oversee his chain of ice cream shops. Kendali doesn't want either path.

One lazy summer day, Phillip Garrison, founder of Cocoa Curves Magazine, walks into the ice cream store for a cool treat and gives Kendali a glimpse of a new galaxy, the hip hop/ R&B entertainment industry.
